fuzzball recording

imagine. Explore. create.

At Fuzzball Recording we realize that great records develop first and foremost from great songs. We like emphasize a focus on collecting instruments and building an environment that inspires and stimulates your imagination as an artist. We prefer the word “tools” over the word “gear”. "Gear" suggests a collection of arbitrary things. We know that peripherals only input and output what they are given. We want to help your ideas come to life. Fuzzball Recording provides you with the tools, inspiration and candid feedback to do just that. Think of Marc and Fuzzball Recording as a collaborator where egos are checked at the door and there is no such thing as a bad idea.

Fuzzball Recording is a bastion of creative partnerships for the collective goal of creating the "holy shit" albums and music for the world to embrace.

Fuzzball Recording is the home of composer, producer, and mixer Marc McClusky. I’ve been producing and mixing records professionally for 17 years and scoring media, commercials and films for 4.

I have been lucky enough to have earned a few awards and a couple of platinum and gold records. I have had multiple top 5 Billboard albums and a #1 album on iTunes.

I have worked with artists like Weezer, Bad Religion, Sleep On It, Motion City Soundtrack, Everclear, Ludo and many others.I enjoy collaborating with up and coming unsigned artists, helping them hone their sound, and getting their music heard by the right ears. My career covers almost every genre from pop to rock and orchestral to hardcore.

As a composer and mixer for TV, Media and Film at ScreenSound Alliance I’ve worked on projects for Animal Planet, ESPN 30 for 30, Coca-Cola, Brain Health, SAP, Knife Skills (Oscar Nominated) and I scored the first 2 seasons and composed the theme song for the wildly popular YouTube show TapleTop.

Lastly, I own and operate a drum sample and virtual instrument company called Smack Drum Samples.
